[Author Profile]
AKI INOMATA
Born in 1983. Completed the Master's program in Advanced Art Expression at Tokyo University of the Arts in 2008. INOMATA focuses on the fact that the act of "creation" is not exclusive to humans, and has created works through a collaborative process with living organisms. She presents what emerges from interactions with living things, or the relationships themselves. Recent exhibitions include "22nd Milan Triennale" (Triennale Design Museum, 2019), "Thailand Biennale 2018" (Krabi City, Thailand, 2018), "AKI INOMATA, Why Not Hand Over a 'Shelter' to Hermit Crabs?" (Musée des Beaux-Arts de Nantes, France, 2018), "Coming of Age" (Sector 2337, Chicago, 2017), "KENPOKU ART 2016 Ibaraki Prefecture Kita Art Festival" (2016), "ECO EXPANDED CITY" (WRO Art Center, Wroclaw, Poland, 2016), and many other exhibitions both in Japan and abroad. She stayed in New York in 2017 at the invitation of the ACC.
