This is a beautiful vintage tea set of excellent quality from the famous Koenigszelt manufactory. The "Charlotte" series is a classic of the 1930s-1940s, known for its elegant shapes and real silver overlay. The silver has a natural vintage patina, which shows its age and authenticity. About the Silver Overlay Technique: The uniqueness of the "Charlotte" series lies in the sophisticated Silver Overlay method — a process of galvanic silvering. Unlike standard silver luster, this technique involved electrodepositing a layer of high-grade genuine silver directly onto the porcelain. It required jeweler-like precision: an electrically conductive pattern was first applied to the glaze, and the piece was then submerged in a galvanic bath where the silver would "grow" onto the porcelain, creating a durable, raised relief. The natural patina that develops over time is a hallmark of its authenticity and high silver purity. This set represents a magnificent symbiosis of 1930s science and decorative art.
