Doulton Silicon Flask.
A Doulton Lambeth silicon ware jug, decanter or flask. It was made for DCL (The Distillers Company Limited), celebrating their Scotch Whisky winning the Gold Medal at Edinburgh in 1886, a very important advertising feature at the time. A lovely Egyptian frieze featuring horse-drawn chariots and armed warriors in a variety of poses, all between two bands of stylized flowers. The front face shows the Scottish coat of arms, and firm’s address in a central panel.
