In 1945, Kellogg inserted a prize in the form of pinback buttons into each box of Pep cereal
Kids would collect them and many decorated their beanie hats with the pins
86 different newspaper comic characters make up a complete set
Set of 3 original vintage pin-back buttons featuring classic comic strip characters:
- Orphan Annie – iconic red outfit, curly hair
- Little King – crowned royal from Otto Soglow’s strip
- Olive Oyl – Popeye’s long-necked companion
These buttons are approx. 7/8" diameter, made of celluloid over metal, and date to the 1940s. Each has a pin-back and shows light wear consistent with age. A charming bundle for collectors of vintage comics, advertising memorabilia, or Kellogg’s PEP cereal premiums.
- Authentic mid-century collectibles
- Bold graphics, great character detail
- Pin-backs intact, ready for display
Tin litho pinbacks measure about 7/8 inch
