This is an authentic vintage European ham stand (Jamonera/prosciutto holder) dating back to the mid-20th century. It features a solid chrome-plated steel frame with four steel spikes to secure the ham and a beautifully curved real horn handle for lifting and positioning. The stands were traditionally used in fine restaurants, butcher shops and carving stations to hold whole cured hamds (prosciutto, jamon or country ham) while slicing.
The design is both functional and sculptural, with a strong mid-century Art Deco influence - making it just as striking as decor as it is useful. Made in Europe in 1940-1960's.
Perfect for charcuterie lovers, professional or home chefs, European kitchen decor, mid-century modern or industrial interiors holiday or dinner party serving. These are increasingly hard to find, especially with a real horn handle - most now have plastic handles.
